RACIST? NO WAY.

So I wish Mr Johnson a return to good health. Not least because his departure, however it happens, puts Dominic Raab, currently Foreign Secretary, into the frame as a possible replacement, and he is just plain dangerous. Turns out that according to our non-existent and flaky British constitution, the Foreign Secretary is the “First Secretary” and first in line to deputise for an ailing Prime Minister. Or a dead one. So let the bumbling egotist bumble on. For now.

There is no evidence to suggest any such thing. It was probably just down to scheduling and rotas. But what an opportunity missed for the NHS to show the world how much it depends on non-white medical staff. And give the two-fingered salute to those in the Conservative Party who really are racist-inclined. Not to mention awfulnesses like Farage and others like him. Rotas or no rotas, the ward management could and should have seen the opportunity and grabbed it.

I am sure that Johnson had nothing to do with selecting those who nursed him. He would have praised any of the staff who helped him back from the brink. Politically, he is a misguided missile, but otherwise, I do not believe that he would allow overt racism to influence his personal behaviour.
